Dr. C. Jason Carlin was born and raised in a rural town of Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, about 2 hours north of Pittsburgh, PA. He grew up with horses on a small farm, and was taught a lot about hard work, discipline, and responsibility. Due to his close-knit family values, Dr. C.J. has a big heart, which is seen throughout the office through his dedication and commitment to improving the health of his patients.
Dr. C.J. attended Gannon University in Erie, PA, for his undergraduate studies, where received his Bachelor’s in Science. Dr. C.J. was also a starter for the wrestling team throughout his tenure at Gannon. The assistant wrestling coach was a chiropractor and introduced Dr. C.J. to the natural, alternative ways to treat patients without the use of drugs and invasive procedures. “You have to go to school at the fountainhead of chiropractic…” his coach had told him, describing Palmer College of Chiropractic. “ It’s the best chiropractic school in the nation.” There, Dr. C.J. underwent many classroom hours and clinical training. He also received extra training in low back and disc conditions and various types of treatment. While attending Palmer, Dr. C.J. was a starter on their semi-professional rugby team.
Dr. Chelsi Carlin grew up in the Central Illinois area. Not only was she raised to value God and family, but living with healthy habits was a priority in her household. Mom always had healthy home-cooked meals and Dad always had everyone’s vitamins lying out! This way of living was carried through school and as early as Dr. Chelsi’s junior year in high school, she decided that, with the natural approach of Chiropractic and the ability of allowing the body to heal itself, this was going to be her career choice.
Dr. Chelsi completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s of Biological Sciences. She also, assisted the anatomy instructors in the cadaver anatomy classes. Additional specialized courses in human anatomy and physiology helped lay groundwork for her courses at chiropractic school. In addition to the main curriculum at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Chelsi took specialty courses in the causes and treatments of low back pain and disc conditions. She also spent time in Fiji treating patients for Clinic Abroad Missions.
It was at Palmer College where Drs. Chelsi and C.J. met. They bought their current practice in Morton, IL together, and were later married in September of 2013.
Both, Drs. Chelsi and C.J. have received advanced training at the National Spinal Disc Disorders training facilities in North Palm Beach, Florida and are currently preparing for the Spinal Decompression Certification Course at Parker University in Dallas, TX. This unique certification program has been approved by the International Medical Advisory Board for Spinal Decompression, and is the first decompression program of its kind to be offered in America. Both doctors are very proud to offer this wonderful alternative to other invasive spinal treatments, and their patients get fantastic results.
